Ubisoft ha recentemente annunciato la chiusura imminente dei server di quasi 100 giochi storici, che rimarranno privati del multiplayer e talvolta di alcuni achievement! Pertanto tutti i dati andrebbero trasferiti quanto prima su Ubisoft Connect.
L’annuncio, pubblicato sul forum ufficiale del publisher francese, segue quello che è diventato lo sfortunato ma inevitabile trend dei vecchi giochi con servizi online, che vedono una seconda morte con la cancellazione finale dei propri server.
Il mantenimento dell’infrastruttura di rete dei propri prodotti, sopratutto in queste ultime generazioni sempre più legate al multiplayer online, richiede infatti costi altissimi, e non è raro leggere di simili mosse per far spazio a titoli più recenti.
Questa volta la mossa è quella di Ubisoft, che ha deciso infine di chiudere i server di ben 93 suoi titoli, alcuni di essi con oltre un decennio di attività sulle spalle.

Insomma, un vero e proprio ‘tabula rasa’ per moltissimi titoli legati anche all’era PlayStation 3 e Xbox 360, che non potranno più contare sul multiplayer e altri servizi accessori, come leaderboard e statistiche varie.
